Urdu writing is the most widely spoken variety of the language of the muslim world, which is alphabetic and written in the Persian syllabic alphabets as well as extra letters. The exact origins of the language are unknown but one theory suggests it was brought to the subcontinent through the persian and turkish invaders c that time. Urdu was in no way related to the persian language and resembled more the turkish language. Since the 19th century, the language has spread rapidly across the muslim world and is now spoken by over 350 million people, making it one of the most widely spoken languages of the world. Many people in the subcontinent regard the Urdu language as the national language of Pakistan and India, and the language of the “ educated “ classes. In India and pakistan the language is being taught in almost all schools with the exception of madrasah s where it is known as tarweli and in a limited number of madrasas, it is an obligatory subject, whereas in India the same subject is just optional, if a student takes up it he is bound to take it through a rigorous system of examination examination, which finally decides the career of a student after the university ( majlis e degree ),.
As with most muslim countries, female illiteracy is considered a very serious issue in Pakistan particularly so in rural areas, women are often not allowed to attend schools except for a very limited number of vocational courses. Although females are not considered first class citizens in pakistan, a recent trend has brought themselves into limelight. It has been pointed out that the number of women who joined the civil service is increasing from year to year. The male population is considered less reliable in terms of their participation in day to day life. while boys have a tendency to join groups such as gang and fight, girls are more prone to join the community and biological functions, whether in the form of attending religious worships, cultural events, or getting married. Urdu is the official language of Pakistan, as well as the co-official language of the federal province of Punjab. d2c66b5586
